No Excuses — Your Body Wants to Be Healthy

This month you’ll have a chance to check out my friend Jorge Cruise’s new book Stubborn Fat Gone: Discover Think Fit™ to Turn Off Stress and Lose 1.5 Lbs. Every Day. Jorge is the creator of one of my favorite books on healthy eating—The Belly Fat Cure. Some years back when I had just published, Excuses Begone! and traveled around the country lecturing on how to let go of self-defeating thinking habits, I first encountered the wisdom of The Belly Fat Cure. It was no accident, my friends, and I thank the Universe for the chance I had to test the Excuses Begone! paradigm in my own life.

The fact is we can do this with anything—from belly fat to any excuse-bound situation that is blocking our health and/or happiness. Once I decided to believe that I could release the weight that had accumulated around my middle, I let it go. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you believe you can or believe you can’t, you’re right.” Why not believe you can? How many of us tell ourselves Continue Reading

9 Habits of Creative Genius

“Everyone is born a genius, but the process of living de-geniuses them.”
— Buckminster Fuller

Genius is a potential that lives within you and every other human being. You have many moments of genius in your lifetime. These are the times when you have a uniquely brilliant idea and implement it even if only you are aware of how fantastic it is. Perhaps you created something absolutely astonishing and you even amazed yourself. Then there are the moments when you make exactly the right shot in a round of golf or a tennis match and you realize with immense pleasure what you’ve just accomplished. You are a genius.

There is no such thing as luck or accidents in this purposeful universe. Not only is everything connected to everything else, but no one is excluded from the universal Source called intention. And genius, since it’s a characteristic of the universal Source, must be universal, which means that it’s Continue Reading

Polish the Lens and Meet Your True Self

Here’s a quote I love from 18th century mystical poet, William Blake: “If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro’ narrow chinks of his cavern.” Those of a certain age, like me, will remember the words “doors of perception” as a catch-phrase of the 1960s. First, British author Aldous Huxley borrowed The Doors of Perception as the title for a brief book he wrote in 1954, detailing his experiences when taking Continue Reading

Trusting in Yourself: A Conversation with Abraham

One of things I wanted to talk about when I had my opportunity to spend an evening with Esther Hicks and the ascended masters known as Abraham was the idea of trusting yourself. Am I on the right track saying, “When you trust in yourself, you are trusting in the wisdom that created you”? Here’s what Abraham had to say: Continue Reading

A Tribute to My Brother and All Veterans

My brother, Dave and I in the Orphanage

My brother, Dave and I in the Orphanage

As a Veteran myself, this has always been a special day of remembrance for me. However this year I would like to pay tribute to my brother David, the recipient of the Bronze star for his extraordinary service during the most horrific years of the Vietnam war. He writes here about an incident that changed his life forever as he held the hand of a dying soldier. Dave and I were inseparable during the first decade of our lives as we moved about through a series of foster homes. I honor you, my brother, on this day where we all convey our deepest gratitude for those who served so valiantly…I love you Dave, and I salute you on this very special day.

Love,
I AM,

Happy 88th Birthday, Louise Hay!

On October 8th, one of my greatest role models celebrates her 88th birthday. The beautiful, vibrant, sprightly, wise, and witty Louise Hay has made it her life mission to help and encourage us all to live our best lives. Louise has been celebrating her life ever since she discovered at around 50 years old that your thoughts can change the way you experience things. Want more happiness, peace, joy, health, love, and abundance in your life? Think on these things. Louise says, “I return to the basics of life: forgiveness, courage, gratitude, love, and humor.” Using these principles in the form of Continue Reading

Let Your Food Be Your Medicine

This week I want to talk about a brand new book by my admired and revered friend, Dr. Joan Borysenko. It’s called The Plant Plus Diet Solution: Personalized Nutrition for Life. I wrote an endorsement for an earlier book of hers that couldn’t be truer today:

“Joan Borysenko is the smartest woman I’ve ever known. I urge you to drink in her wisdom.” If you don’t already know the work of Dr. Joan, you’ll find this new book a fabulous introduction. Joan is an internationally known speaker in integrative medicine and the mind-body connection. She has a doctorate in cell biology from Harvard Medical School and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She’s the New York Times best-selling author of many books as well as a journalist and radio personality. And, it goes without saying that she is a great person and a great friend.”

The Plant Plus Diet Solution speaks to all of us who are trying to figure out what best serves our health in today’s brave new world of genetically modified foods, escalating health crises (obesity, diabetes, autism, Alzheimer’s), and contradictory Continue Reading

Have You Tried Tapping?

When I was first introduced to the mysterious practice called “Tapping” or E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique), I was very much in need of some new tools for feeling better fast. I met Nick Ortner, author of The Tapping Solution and creator and executive producer of the hit documentary film of the same name, at just the right time—because, of course, there are no accidents! As I always say to you and to myself, be open to everything and attached to nothing. Put away your skepticism and give tapping a try.

Here is Nick’s story about how tapping came into his life:  Continue Reading

Bridging Science and Spirituality

On my Hay House radio show recently, I was blessed with a visit from my friend Dr. Larry Dossey, author of the book  One Mind: How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters. Larry is the distinguished author of many other books, including the New York Times bestseller, Healing Words. One Mind is his most recent work and a book I more than loved—I just breathed it in! Larry is an internal medicine physician and the former chief-of-staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital. One Mind marks his latest achievement in bringing scientific understanding to spirituality, a quest very Continue Reading

Manifesting Your Desires

I enjoyed a blast from the past in June when my 1998 public television special “How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want” appeared among the films and videos available to view during the 2014 Hay House World Summit. It was fun to see the family scenes included in the footage, when my kids were little and I had a bit more hair! Time has moved on since those days, but the timeless message of learning to align with Continue Reading

Becoming One With Spirit

You have probably seen my dear friend, Immaculée Ilibagiza, at one of my speaking events or on one of my public television shows. She spoke at my Divine Love seminar earlier this year and will be joining me for the I Am Light event  January 24th-25th  on Maui and a cruise to the Holy Land in October 2015. This month her book on the saving power of prayer, The Rosary, will be released in paperback. Immaculée is awe-inspiring, and I thought I would share with you this story from my Foreword to her first book, Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust:

The very first moment we met, I knew in an absolute flash of insight that Continue Reading

Getting A Glimpse Of Heaven

Update from the Editor: Memories from Heaven: Children’s Astounding Recollections of the Time Before They Came to Earth is now available in Hardcover from HayHouse.com

Many of my fans, friends, and family members have now responded to my  Facebook post about children’s amazing ability to remember their time before birth. It began with a conversation I had with my personal assistant here on Maui, Dee Garnes. Nineteenth century British poet, William Wordsworth, expressed the idea that we gradually lose our intimate knowledge of heaven as we grow up. In his poem “Intimations of Immortality,” he says that “our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting” of our previous heavenly existence. “Trailing clouds of glory do we come/From God who is our home:/Heaven lies about us in our infancy,” says Wordsworth.

Dee and I talked about how the ones who know the most about God are those who have just recently been wrapped in the arms of the Divine, our infants and toddlers. Here is what Dee sent me regarding a conversation she had with her young son Marcus, a little boy I Continue Reading
